Born in September, 1950 at Vadnagar, a small town in Mehsana district of North Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi grew up in a culture that instilled in him the values of generosity, benevolence and social service. During the India-Pak war in the mid sixties, even as a young boy, he volunteered to serve the soldiers in transit at railway stations. In 1967, he served the flood affected people of Gujarat. LUCKNOW: IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, who took on the powerful sand mafia in Noida, was hurriedly suspended for demolishing the wall of a religious structure, which was dubbed a rash act that could have led to riots. But the 28-year-old sub-divisional magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar never demolished the wall of any religious structure, according to reports the DM has submitted to the UP government. The report says Nagpal was asked to visit Kadalpur village, where illegal construction activities were being carried out on government land, and settle the matter amicably. The report suggests it was unclear what religious site it was, since the construction had only just begun. An all India mass canine vaccination drive called Norma Alvares is scheduled to begin in the coastal state of Goa from 1 September 2013. Norma Alvares, member of Animal Welfare Board of India, said the drive across India is being held by the Board in association with Worldwide Veterinary Service and Dogs Trust.

The Telecom Commission of India on 2 July 2013 approved the enhancement of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) limit in the telecom sector from 74 percent to 100 percent. The decision was taken to re-energize the telecom industry. At present, FDI limit in Telecom sector is at 74 per cent where 49 per cent is through automatic route and the rest with the approval of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board.

Private Universities set-up in the State The Governor of Uttarakhand shall be the Visitor of the University. The Visitor shall, when present, preside at the convocation of the University for conferring degrees and diplomas. The Visitor shall have the following powers namely : To call for any paper or information relating to the affairs of the University. On the basis of the information received by the Visitor, if he is satisfied that any order, proceeding, of decision taken by any authority of the University is not in conformity with the Act, Statutes or Rules, he may issue such directions as he may deem fit in the interest of the University and the directions so issued shall be complied with by all concerned. Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the approval of the Visitor

The Governor shall be the Chancellor of the University. He shall by virtue of his office, be the Head of the University and shall, when present, preside at the convocation of the University. Every proposal for conferment of an honorary degree shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor. It shall be duty of the Vice-Chancellor to furnish such information or records relating to the administration of the affairs of the University as the Chancellor may call for. The Chancellor shall have such other powers as may be conferred on him by or under the University Act or the Regulations.

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test will be held on 27 June 2013 and 28 June 2013. The UPTET 2013 will be conducted in two sessions. The first session will be held on 27 June for Primary Level between 10:00 am to 12:30 PM. The second session will start from 2:30 to 5:00 pm.
