Pranab Mukherjee dons new role as 13th President of India

New Delhi:  Putting aside two decade old tradition of having Presidents from non-active political background,  Pranab Mukherjee , one of the most celebrated politicians of the country, has been elected as 13th  President   of India. It was in the year 1982 when Giani Zail Singh had become the 7th President of India who also hailed from active political background. 76-year-old  Mukherjee  was administered the oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend the constitution and law" by Chief Justice of India Sarosh Homi Kapadia at an impressive ceremony in the historic Central Hall of Parliament. The veteran leader took the oath in English in the name of God to a thunderous applause and thumping of desks by those in the packed Central Hall that included Vice President Hamid Ansari, Speaker Meira Kumar, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and outgoing President Pratibha Patil. टीईटी को पात्रता परीक्षा का दर्जा बेसिक शिक्षा परिषद के प्राथमिक स्कूलों में शिक्षकों की भर्ती के लिए बीते वर्ष आयोजित की गई अध्यापक पात्रता परीक्षा (टीईटी)-2011 को कैबिनेट ने निरस्त न करते हुए उसे पात्रता परीक्षा का दर्जा देने का फैसला किया है। कैबिनेट के फैसले के बाद शिक्षकों का चयन पुरानी व्यवस्था के अनुसार हाईस्कूल, इंटरमीडिएट और स्नातक स्तर पर पाये गए अंकों के आधार पर जिला स्तर पर तैयार की जाने वाली मेरिट के जरिये होगा। पात्रता परीक्षा का दर्जा मिलने की वजह से टीईटी-2011 उत्तीर्ण करने वाले अभ्यर्थी शिक्षकों की नियुक्ति के लिए आवेदन कर सकेंगे। शिक्षकों के चयन की पुरानी व्यवस्था बहाल करने के लिए कैबिनेट को उप्र बेसिक शिक्षा (अध्यापक) सेवा नियमावली में संशोधन करना होगा। साथ ही, 72,825 शिक्षकों की नियुक्ति के लिए जारी केंद्रीयकृत विज्ञप्ति को निरस्त कर संशोधित नियमावली के आधार पर नये सिरे से जिला स्तर पर विज्ञप्ति जारी करनी होगी। राष्ट्रीय अध्यापक शिक्षा परिषद (एनसीटीई) ने 11 फरवरी 2011 को राज्यों को जारी दिशानिर्देश में टीईटी को पात्रता परीक्षा का दर्जा दिया था। मायावती सरकार ने
