Private Universities set-up in the State The Governor of Uttarakhand shall be the Visitor of the University. The Visitor shall, when present, preside at the convocation of the University for conferring degrees and diplomas. The Visitor shall have the following powers namely : To call for any paper or information relating to the affairs of the University. On the basis of the information received by the Visitor, if he is satisfied that any order, proceeding, of decision taken by any authority of the University is not in conformity with the Act, Statutes or Rules, he may issue such directions as he may deem fit in the interest of the University and the directions so issued shall be complied with by all concerned. Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the approval of the Visitor

The Governor shall be the Chancellor of the University. He shall by virtue of his office, be the Head of the University and shall, when present, preside at the convocation of the University. Every proposal for conferment of an honorary degree shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor. It shall be duty of the Vice-Chancellor to furnish such information or records relating to the administration of the affairs of the University as the Chancellor may call for. The Chancellor shall have such other powers as may be conferred on him by or under the University Act or the Regulations.

Staff Selection Commission announced results for Stenographer Grade ‘D’ Examination (Six Monthly) on Compassionate ground (MHA) Examination (December, 2012). The Skill Test in Stenography @ 80 w.p.m.(Hindi / English) was conducted on 08 December 2012 at New Delhi and Bangalore for appointment to the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’ on compassionate grounds in various departments. Out of 65 registered candidates, only 35 candidates appeared in the said Skill Test. According to the cut off( 5% in mistakes) fixed by the Commission in the said Stenography Test, 02 candidates are qualified in the said Skill Test.
