An all India mass canine vaccination drive called Norma Alvares is scheduled to begin in the coastal state of Goa from 1 September 2013. Norma Alvares, member of Animal Welfare Board of India, said the drive across India is being held by the Board in association with Worldwide Veterinary Service and Dogs Trust.

The Telecom Commission of India on 2 July 2013 approved the enhancement of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) limit in the telecom sector from 74 percent to 100 percent.
