CBSE Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) November 2012

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi. The CTET score and certificate shall apply to the following categories of schools.
  • Schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands
  • Unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET
  • Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET

  • Teacher (for classes I to V): Primary Stage
  • Teacher (for classes VI to VIII): Elementary Stage
  • Teacher (for both categories)

Important Dates for CTET November 2012
  • Opening date for online registration: 1 August 2012
  • Closing date for online registration: 31 August 2012
  • Last date for receipt of application form in CBSE: 7 September 2012
  • Last date for receipt of application form in CBSE (candidates from remote areas): 14 September 2012
  • Date of Written Test: 18 November 2012 (Sunday)a)      Paper I: 10.30 am to 12 pmb)      Paper II: 1.30 pm to 3 pm

Eligibility Criteria for CTET November 2012
Educational Qualification: Primary Stage (for Classes I-V)
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.  OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Educational Qualification: Elementary Stage (for Classes VI-VIII)
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year BA/ BSc.Ed or BA. Ed/BSc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Application Fee: The application fee (for Paper I OR Paper II) to be paid by Reserved Category candidate is Rs 250, and for General and OBC candidate is Rs 500. Candidates applying for both the Papers (I and II) are required to pay a fee of Rs 800 (General Category candidates) and Rs 400 for Reserved Category candidate.
The fee needs to be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi. Write your registration number, name, address, and mobile/ telephone number on the back of the Demand Draft.

Pattern of Examination for CTET November 2012
The CTET examination will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ’s). There will be no negative marking. There will be 2 papers of CTET.
  • Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

How to Apply for CTET November 2012: Candidates need to apply online by accessing the Board’s website http://www.rsyinfo.blogspot.in/  The candidate should supply all details while filling up the online form.
Candidates are henceforth required to take a print out of the computer generated Application form/ Confirmation page after successful submission of data and send it to CBSE, CTET Unit, after affixing a passport size photograph and signature in the space provided, in an envelope of size 12”x9” super scribed in bold letters “APPLICATION FOR CTET-NOV 2012” by Registered/Speed Post.
The Application Form/ Confirmation page complete in all respect should be sent by Registered/ Speed Post so as to reach positively before the last date in the CBSE office on the following address:

The Application form sent by courier shall not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
