The VBSPU University is one of the public state education universities of the utter Pradesh state. The full name of the university is veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. The university is situated in the Jaunpur district of the utter Pradesh state. The university was established in the year 1987 by the act of the government of the utter Pradesh state. The name of the university was given in the honor of Shri veer Bahadur Singh who was the former chief minister of utter Pradesh state. The university is covering a large are about 171.5 acres of land in the utter Pradesh state.
The university is recognized by the university grant commission (UGC). Many different colleges of the utter Pradesh state are affiliated with the university. The university is providing education for both under graduation and post graduation courses. The university offers the education in many different departments. The university is also providing the facilities for distance education. Every year thousand of the students get enrolls with the university.

The university conducts the exam in the semester pattern. In the semester pattern exams are conducted two times in a year. The university mainly conducts the exams in the November and May month every year. Thousand of the students appear in the exam.
